1970 observed the introduction of the most powerful Chevelle SS of all time. Responding into the lifting of GM's ban on engines greater than four hundred cid in midsize cars and trucks, Chevrolet responded by dropping in a whole new 454 cubic motor into its Chevelle SS. The best engine option was the LS6 Model with 450bhp. The standard Chevelle SS
